Fast and Easy EDI with EDiForm

Mil-Pac's EDI solution simplifies the submission of electronic DD250s and invoices and speeds payment.  Mil-Pac integrates EDI capability right into its DD250 software, eliminating the need for separate EDI translation and communication packages.  Coupled with Mil-Pac Network Services, EDiForm provides the user with a turnkey solution that is ready to go right out of the box.

EDiForm users can create DD250s or use ones created by any of Mil-Pac's popular software packages, such as FormStation or DD-Master, or by an ERP or other software system.  EDiForm converts the DD250 data into an EDI Shipment Notice (ANSI X12 856 transaction). The 856 is sent to the VAN, where it is picked up for review by the Defense Contract Management Command (DCMC) Quality Assurance Representative (QAR).

Once a DD250 is approved, the DCMC QAR sends a message back to the contractor in the form of an ANSI X12 864 transaction. EDiForm prints the QAR's electronic approval on the DD250 in lieu of a signature in accordance with the Alternative Release Procedure (ARP) provision (DFARS Appendix F, Paragraph 301(b)).
The electronically approved DD250 is then ready to be sent along with the shipment.

At the same time the QAR approval is being transmitted to the contractor, the approved DD250 is being incorporated into the MOCAS database, eliminating the need to mail a copy of the DD250 to the Contract Administration Office (CAO). Because CAO Terminal processing is eliminated, so is the potential for many errors and other delays.

Electronically approved DD250s can be immediately converted into electronic invoices (ANSI X12 810 transactions) and transmitted to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). Since the 810 transaction is generated from the same approved DD250 data already in MOCAS, rapid payment is ensured.

EDiForm can be configured in many different ways to accommodate business work flow. Electronic DD250s may be generated from plain-text data created by other software such as ERP systems. EDiForm may also generate accounting advices to keep your accounts receivable system apprised of electronic invoices submitted to DFAS. Or, if preferred, the EDiForm product can simply notify your A/R system that a DD250 has been submitted and approved. EDiForm may also be used as a stand-alone electronic invoicing system, or be configured to generate invoices for approved DD250s received from another EDiForm, accounting system or ERP package.

Barcode labeling can also be tied into the EDI process to eliminate redundant data-entry and the errors which often accompany it. EDiForm can feed the same DD250 data directly into Mil-Pac's AutoBarc software to automatically generate the required LOGMARS barcode labels. This ensures that the barcode label data scanned at the depot is exactly the same as the approved DD250 entered into MOCAS, thus eliminating one more possible delay of payment.

The fully flexible EDiForm can be used with Mil-Pac products or other software packages to produce DD250s, invoices and barcode labels. It can be used with the Mil-Pac Network Services VAN, or any other certified VAN. No matter how you use it, EDiForm can improve business flow and ensure rapid payment.

Value-Added Network (VAN) Support

EDI transactions with the DOD go through Value Added Networks (VAN) certified by the government's Electronic Commerce Interoperability Process (ECIP).
Mil-Pac Network Services provides a low cost ECIP-certified VAN, easily accessible via the Internet.   EDiForm works automatically with the Mil-Pac VAN, but also supports the option of using other VANs.
